Executive Director

First 5 Mendocino is seeking a proven professional as their next Executive Director. Reporting to the Commission, the Executive Director (ED) will serve as a resource, administrator, coordinator, and advisor to the Commission, with the goal of continuing to create integrated, resilient systems that support successful outcomes for children and families. The ED is a visible leader and champion of Early Childhood Development, representing First 5 across a diversity of policy and systems change efforts. The ED is the lead relationship and coalition-builder who creates and grows the organizational infrastructure necessary to execute on the direction and priorities approved by the Commission as outlined in the Strategic plan. This includes creating work plans, preparing, and monitoring the budget, and being able to prioritize the most important issues and execute initiatives. Additionally, the Executive Director will provide information and recommendations to the Commission, will provide support, guidance, and professional development to the staff, and provide the fiscal management to ensure compliance with Proposition 10 mandates. The Executive Director will plan, organize, and coordinate activities as requested by the Commission.
