SUMMARY:Prepare for Birth\, Baby\, and Beyond: Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Through this series\, we’ll cover a wide range of topics including pregnancy\, childbirth\, and what to expect during the early stages of your baby’s life. We will share valuable insights\, tips\, and advice to help you feel confident and prepared.Part 1: Thursday April 10th from 6pm-8:30pm \nLabor Comfort Measures and Hospital Tour \nThis free in person birth class is open to all wherever you plan to give birth. We’ll talk about: \n\n\n\nbirth\nphysical and emotional changes\ncomfort measures you can do at home and throughout labor. No matter what your plan is for comfort\, it’s good to have skills you can use anywhere! Medical comfort measures – like epidurals and medications- will be covered in Part 2.\nYou’ll have a chance to learn and practice positions\, hands on skills\, time contractions\, and understand more of the process of birth.\n\n\n\nOpen to all regardless of planned place of birth. Getting familiar with the hospital can help you feel more comfortable during birth. \nPart 1 Developing Comfort Measures in Glenn Miller Conference room by Labor and Delivery \nLearn more about supports for birth and beyond here- Newborn – First 5 Mendocino \nPart 2 – Thursday\, April 17th from 6pm- 8:30pm:  \nAll About Labor and Birth \nHear about when to come to your planned birthplace \nLearn about medical comfort measures – like epidurals- and other interventions you may be offered. \nWhen you know your options\, you have them! \nPart 3 Thursday\, April 24th from 6pm- 8:30pm \nFocus on parenting your newborn and postpartum self care in the Main Conference Room\, near the Cafeteria \nWe’ll talk about the: \n\nGolden Hour after birth\nBaby care and medical care\nBreastfeeding and lactation\nTaking care of yourself and your postpartum care.\nSupports for new parents like home visiting\,  postpartum doulas\, and lactation consultants.\n\nNext series will be offered in May. \nJoin us for interactive sessions\, where you can ask questions\, learn\, and connect with other parents-to-be.
